Incentives in the Helsinki region

articleHero

An ideal setting for incentives.

Helsinki offers all the cultural attractions of a large city with stunning nature just steps away.

See the city from the water

Helsinki is one of the world’s safest and most sustainable cities – making it perfect for incentive travel. In addition to tasty food, great design, interesting museums and eye-catching architecture, Finland’s capital and its surrounding areas offer plenty of space for unique incentives.

Helsinki borders the Baltic Sea and there are hundreds of islands to explore, including historic sea fortress Suomenlinna. Want to get your guests’ adrenaline pumping? Let them blaze across the water on a RIB boat or work out on a standup paddleboard. Prefer to wine and dine them? Take a dinner cruise on a traditional wooden ship – preferably at sunset.

Marvel at iconic architecture and design

The Helsinki region is paradise for architecture and design lovers. In the downtown area, many of the most iconic buildings are right next to each other, making it easy to explore the capital on foot. From the renowned designs of Alvar Aalto to famous design flagships like Marimekko, the Helsinki region offers plenty of awe-inspiring architecture and design gems for guests to explore.

Design workshops are a fun way for art-lovers to get hands-on and hone their skills.

Enjoy incredible food and drinks

Indulging in local cuisine is a fantastic way to get to know a country’s culture, and visitors to Helsinki have endless options to choose from. Wow travellers’ palates with a multi-course dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Let them sample craft beers at a local brewery. Awaken their inner mixologist at cocktail school. And in the summer months, plan an island-hopping excursion from restaurant to restaurant!

Day-trip to a historic village

Helsinki is more than just the capital city. It also includes charming historic towns like Porvoo and Fiskars that offer arts workshops, theme walks and tastings. Artist enclave Fiskars combines lovely riverside views with art, design and crafts, while cosy Porvoo is known for its narrow cobblestone streets and historic wooden town.

From world-class theatre and museums – like the Ateneum, Seurasaari and HAM – to nightclubs and concerts, there’s always something going on in Helsinki. Across the year, Helsinki offers many events and festivals making it easy to celebrate like a local. No matter when your guests visit, the calendar is sure to be jam-packed.

Explore the city

Helsinki is a relatively compact city, and it’s easy to explore on foot. But a bicycle tour is another fun – and authentic – way to see the capital. Invite guests to hop in the saddle and set out on one of the many cycling paths or venture beyond city limits to some of the region’s further-flung towns. Looking for something a bit more unique? Plan a ride on a pub tram!

Relax like a Finn in a sauna

For Finns, sauna isn’t just an activity; it’s a way of life. And Helsinki has plenty of places to get in on the national pastime. Downtown, there are urban oases like Allas Sea Pool and Löyly (to name just a few), which offer drinks, treatments and spectacular views. Or try a palju, an outdoor hot tub made of wood, or rent your very own floating sauna, or even a private sauna island.
