Magical winters

Winters in Ylläs are wonderful. Beginning in late October or early November, the area offers wonderful cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities, and during Christmas, rows and rows of candles light up the villages and their snow surroundings.

In February, the days get longer and the area’s vast snowy landscapes are bathed in sunlight, creating a magical atmosphere that’s perfect for outdoor activities. Ylläs has a history of skiing that dates back to the 1930’s, when the first skiers would make their way up the fell despite the lack of a road.
