Scandic Hamburger Börs reopening soon at iconic Turku landmark

Credits: Scandic Hotels

Scandic Hamburger Börs reopens in Turku after a two-year restauration. The refurbished hotel will feature the original Art Nouveau wing as well as a new annex that was added this year. Ideally located near Turku’s Market Square, the sophisticated new hotel will continue its tradition of providing unforgettable hotel and dining experiences as it has since 1894. Today, the classic Vanha Börs, which was completed in 1885, has been merged seamlessly with a new building that reflects the early 20th-century style of the other buildings on the square. The hotel with 272 rooms will open on November 1.

Unique banquet halls in Vanha Börs
Vanha Börs has hosted many dazzling soirées over the years and the party will continue in the hotel’s eight conference rooms and banquet halls equipped with modern technology. The original charm of the building has been retained since Scandic worked closely with The Finnish Heritage Agency to ensure that important historical details were preserved in the restauration including the wrought-iron balconies in the inner courtyard and the stunning works of glass art by Willy Bauer. The hotel also has a unique rooftop bar, Börs Katto, that offers a splendid view of the city.
