Scandic Hamburger Börs reopens after a two-year restoration on November 1, 2021

1/11/2021

The refurbished hotel will feature the original Art Nouveau wing as well as a new annex that was added this year.

Ideally located near Turku’s Market Square, the sophisticated new hotel will continue its tradition of providing unforgettable hotel and dining experiences as it has since 1894. The classic Vanha Börs, which was completed in 1885, has been merged seamlessly with a new building that reflects the early 20th-century style of the other buildings on the square.

New staycation destination

Scandic Hamburger Börs is located within a walking distance of many of Turku’s sights and beautiful riverside. The rooms in the new annex feature warm tones and have been stylishly appointed with plenty of soft textiles and classic elements. The hotel will offer comfortable standard rooms, spacious superior rooms and junior suites with arched windows facing the Market Square as well as accommodations for up to four guests.

Unique banquet halls in Vanha Börs

Vanha Börs has hosted many dazzling soirées over the years and the party will continue in the hotel’s conference rooms and banquet halls equipped with modern technology. The original charm of the building has been retained since Scandic worked closely with The Finnish Heritage Agency to ensure that important historical details were preserved in the restoration including the wrought-iron balconies in the inner courtyard and the stunning works of glass art by Willy Bauer.

The meeting facilities can accommodate events of up to 130 people, dinners for up to 150 people and cocktail functions for up to 225 people. All meeting facilities are accessible. The hotel also offers hybrid event solutions, streaming and video conferencing.
